On Budget Day, Labour Council Leader and Parliamentary Candidate, David Ellesmere gives his first impression on George Osborne's Budget for Millionaires.

"This is the budget when the Government’s priority switched from reducing the deficit to giving handouts to millionaires. Most people in Ipswich will be worse off, even with the new tax allowances, because of the increase in VAT, 3p extra on fuel duty and cuts to tax credits. Ipswich pensioners are being hit particularly hard as their allowances are being frozen. Three quarters of the Cabinet are millionaires. It’s not surprising that they are so out of touch.”
