David Ellesmere: I'm taking action to attract business to Ipswich

I was really pleased to announce that we have submitted a planning application for a new office building on the council’s land in Princes Street, writes Council Leader and Parliamentary Candidate, David Ellesmere.

This is another step along the road to improving this area – which ought to be a real showcase for Ipswich business – after we facilitated the decision by Birketts to move their HQ here.

We don’t have a tenant for the new building, and we’re not going to build it until we have one, but a successful planning application will give confidence to any business thinking of moving there. It’s one less hurdle they have to cross.

And I’m hopeful that we’ll have more good news on Princes Street in the next few weeks.
