lpswich’s Conservative MP Tom Hunt was elected just over a year ago, but he has already let the town down time and time again. Here’s just ten of the ways he’s failed us:
- Quickly gave up when Suffolk County Council cancelled the Northern Bypass
- Failed to stop Ipswich’s orthopaedic surgery being moved to Colchester
- Broke his promise that the Orwell Bridge would be fixed “by winter”
- Failed to speak up for A-Level students during the Government’s testing fiasco despite professing a “life-long passion” for education
- Said nothing when the majority of new police officers were allocated to Conservative-run West Suffolk
- Called for lockdown to be lifted early which Government scientists said would lead to a massive new wave and a hundred thousand more deaths
- Refused to meet with our NHS heroes to talk about a key worker pay rise
- Stayed silent as his Tory friends at Suffolk County Council made cuts to Ipswich’s children’s centres
- Hid away during the government’s chaotic school closures in January
- Voted against hungry children receiving food over the school holidays
As an MP for the governing party, Tom Hunt should be getting a better deal for Ipswich. Sadly, he just isn’t delivering for our town.
