No vote; No voice - Make sure you register to vote

Today is National Voter Registration Day, and its never been more important to register to vote.

Around 4500 voters have disappeared from the Register of Electors in Ipswich due to the way that the government has implemented Individual Electoral Registration.  Its almost as if they don't want us to vote!

To help find some of the missing voters, Ipswich Young Labour ran a stall at the University Campus Suffolk Refreshers' Fair on Tuesday.

Students are one group at particular risk of losing their vote.  People living in shorthold assured tenancies who tend to move home fairly frequently as they have no security of tenancy are another such group.

If you think you may not be on the electoral register, you can register online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote

Registering online is quick, but you'll need your national insurance number.

We need your vote to win on 7th May - and you won't be able to vote if you're not registered.
