Save Suffolk's Remaining Children's Centres

Our children's centres are a vital lifeline for hundreds of families.

With reports that the Conservatives at Suffolk County Council are set to close half of our remaining children's centres, we need to show our support to children and parents across our county by fighting for their survival.

Please sign this petition and help 'Save Suffolk's Children's Centres'.

Austerity is really hurting our children. Shame on the Tory Government and the Tories in Suffolk Council.

I run Autism support groups in local children’s centres for Homestart and without the use of these children’s centres we find it very difficult to run these much needed groups. I am also a parent, three of my children have extra needs, without the help and support of our local children’s centre in the early days things would of been a lot more difficult. Children’s centres are a vital service for parents and with so many other services being cut parents of children with extra needs need support and children’s centres are the ideal place.

I heard these words come out of Theresa May’s mouth ‘austerity is over’, is it? Then why are the thumb screws still being turned on the poorest and most vulnerable in society? Reducing resources for new parents and children is a typically short sighted, short termist strategy not to mention callous. This is getting relly tiresome just get a grip and fund essential public services properly.
