Join us on the eve of East of England Labour Party Regional Conference for Ipswich's third Stand up for Labour comedy night.
Headline comedian Norman Lovett is well known as 'Holly' in Red Dwarf, but has also been a headlining comedian since Alternative Comedy started in the 1980s. Norman's deadpan delivery and comic material appears effortless, but has had audience members crying with laughter at Stand up for Labour events in Lewes, Ealing, Chiswick, Enfield and Kilburn.
Also appearing on the night is Alan Mitchell, who used to work for the Labour Party and has close ties with Ipswich. Alan has an amazing range of impressions of Labour figures from Frank Dobson to Ken Livingstone and has been known to burst into song as well. Alan is also a Labour councillor in Hounslow.
Juliet Meyers appeared at Stand up for Labour in Loughborough in a memorable night. Juliet writes gags for radio and TV as well as being a live performer and is one of the few comedians on the circuit to make political jokes.
Host for the night is Paul Ricketts, who has hosted Stand up for Labour events in England, Scotland and Wales and has just completed an Edinburgh show that was given five stars by a reviewers. Paul is a former trade union official.
