Roxanne Downes - Ipswich Labour candidate for Priory Heath ward

Ipswich Borough Councillor Sarah Barber has resigned from the Council after representing Priory Heath ward for six and a half years.  We thank Sarah for her service to the Borough and to Priory Heath residents.  During her time as a councillor, Sarah took on a number of roles including Chair of the South East Ipswich Area Committee, Mayor and Executive Member for the Town Centre.

A by-election will be held on Thursday 15th December and Labour has selected South East Ipswich resident, Roxanne Downes to contest the seat.

“Roxanne was born in Ipswich, and except while serving in the RAF, has lived here all her life. She lives in South East Ipswich and works at a local school. Roxanne asks for your support at this by-election so that she can work for Priory Heath residents.”

We appreciate that the run-up to Christmas can be a busy time, and residents may prefer to vote by post.  We are also at the time of year when the register is almost a year old, so there may be residents of Priory Heath ward who need to get themselves on the register of electors.  Follow the links below to register to vote or to apply for a postal or proxy vote.

If you are not already registered to vote register at: https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote before midnight on 29th November 2022.

To apply for a postal or proxy vote go to https://www.ipswich.gov.uk/content/absent-voting before 30th November and 7th December 2022 respectively.
