Jack Abbott, Labour and Co-operative Parliamentary Candidate for Ipswich, said;

“The Conservatives have been in power since 2010. The tragedy at Grenfell happened nearly six years ago. Tom Hunt has been the MP for Ipswich for the best part of four years. Residents in St Francis Tower have been living under shrink wrap for two years, and people were evicted from their homes in Cardinal Lofts six months ago.

“Yet, after all this time, the best Tom Hunt and the Conservatives can do is bring forward a Ten-Minute Rule Bill that has next to no chance of becoming law. It is far too little, and far too late, and unfairly gives false hope to people who have had their lives turned upside down.

“It is clear that Ipswich leaseholders who are stuck in unsafe buildings are not going to see the action they need on his watch.”
