Christine has been a Borough Councillor, representing Whitton, since 2018.
She moved from Lowestoft to Ipswich in 2016 to be closer to family and now lives with her partner in Whitton.

Born and raised in Ealing, west London, she moved to Norfolk when her father’s employment shifted to Colman’s in Norwich. After completing her A levels at Wymondham CGS, she trained as a teacher, specialising in the middle years. After a teaching career of more than 30 years in a number of schools, she took early retirement when her Lowestoft middle school closed in 2011 during the Suffolk re-organisation of schools. Christine has always taken a keen interest in the well-being of any community in which she lives. This led her to become a psychodynamic counsellor and assessor whilst she was still teaching. She worked for several years with a Lowestoft charity that offered affordable counselling for adults.

Her links with education continue as she is Vice Chair of Governors at The Beeches Community Primary School. She represents the Borough Council on Whitton Youth partnership and the North West Ipswich Big Local Trust, actively supporting their work in NW Ipswich. She takes a keen interest in the community garden as well as several other local projects and is chair of the Cardinal Medical Practice Patient Participation Group.

Christine currently serves as a member of the Planning and Licensing & Regulatory committees and is the Borough Council representative on the Suffolk Health Scrutiny committee.
