Colin has represented Westgate ward since 2014 and is active in the community being a Governor at Handford Hall School and a Trustee of the Raedwald Trust who are responsible for Westbridge Academy. Representing a diverse community such as Westfate is an enriching experience.

He is a lifelong Ipswich Town fan having seen the ups and downs through over 50 years of supporting the Town having travelled throughout Europe supporting them. He is a sponsor of an Academy Scholar and takes a special interest in watching the youngsters at Portman Road.

His work career was spent in Financial Services, pension fund management, working in London and also spending a number of years based in San Francisco.

At IBC he sits on the Planning Committee and is also Chair of a number of the trading companies; Ipswich Borough Assets Ltd. IPSERV Ltd and Handford Homes Ltd, and a Board member of the Suffolk Pension Fund. He is deputy portfolio holder for Property and Economic Development and has been closely involved in a number of schemes including the redevelopment of St Stephens Church.

He is a member of the Ipswich Society, Ipswich Maritime Society, an Ambassador for Volunteering Matters and an observer on the boards of ISCRE and the New Wolsey. As an aside he is also a part owner of a comedy club called Big Cheese Comedy.
