Julian Gibbs has been a Labour and Co-operative Westgate Councillor since 2011, when he won the seat from the Liberal Democrats. Julian lives in the ward, and understands at firsthand the many issues residents have raised with him.

Julian is proud to represent a diverse community, shops locally and supports the wide range of community groups, active across the ward. He is the Chair of the council’s Audit and Governance Committee, and understands the importance of keeping a close watch on the council’s finances and services.

As a committed co-operator, Julian is a member of a number of cooperatives, including the Eastern Savings and Loans Credit Union. On the council, Julian championed the Co-operative Party’s campaign against modern slavery.
